Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and respond to incoming calls regarding IOM services, including migration support, humanitarian assistance, and protection initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate call logs, escalate sensitive feedback to the supervisor, and assist with routing queries not addressed by standard procedures.
  • Uphold high standards of empathy, respect, and neutrality during all interactions.
  • Provide basic psychological first aid over the phone when needed.
  • Maintain and regularly update resource directories and information materials.
  • Work closely with internal IOM teams to stay updated on program changes and caller concerns.
  • Support the functioning of call centre equipment and software.
  • Attend IOM information sessions to stay informed on national migration and humanitarian trends.
  • Follow IOM’s confidentiality, protection, and safeguarding protocols.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, International/Public Relations, or relevant fields with at least 2 years of experience.
  • OR High School Diploma with 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Additional studies in Development, Migration, or Political Science are a plus.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in customer support, call centre operations, or a similar communication-based role.
  • Prior exposure to humanitarian organizations, particularly UN agencies, is highly desirable.
  • Background in humanitarian protection, AAP (Accountability to Affected Populations), or gender and MHPSS is an asset.

Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and web browsers.
  • Fast typing skills are a bonus.

Languages:

  • Mandatory: Fluency in English and Urdu (both written and spoken).
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Pashto, Balochi, Sindhi, or Dari.
