Teacher Job in Umerkot ACTED Pakistan, an international NGO known for its impartial humanitarian work, is hiring a Teacher for its Adolescent and Adult Learning and Training Program (AALTP) in Umerkot, Sindh. This project is focused on offering formal primary education and vocational training to adolescents and adults who missed traditional education.
The selected candidate will be responsible for the full academic and administrative management of the AALTP center, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the AALTP center including teaching, student attendance, and staff coordination.
- Deliver functional literacy education and coordinate skill development courses.
- Maintain a child-friendly and safe space especially focused on safeguarding adolescent girls.
- Identify challenges like low attendance, dropout risk, and enrollment gaps, and take action to resolve them.
- Lead staff meetings, parent-teacher interactions, and community engagement sessions.
- Ensure proper documentation, records, registration, and materials management at the center.
- Organize and participate in co-curricular activities to boost student morale.
- Ensure compliance with ACTED’s safeguarding policies including zero-tolerance for SEAH (Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment).
Required Qualifications
- Minimum: FA / BA
- Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education (B.Ed / M.Ed)
Preferred Skills and Experience
- At least 1 year of experience in teaching or non-formal education.
- Strong communication skills, particularly in Sindhi and Urdu.
- Experience working with communities, School Management Committees (SMCs), or Parent-Teacher Councils (PTCs).
- Knowledge of child protection, particularly for vulnerable groups.
- Skills in curriculum assessment, training delivery, and classroom management.
